What is Trade License?

A trade license is a document/certificate that gives the permission to the applicant  to commence a particular trade or business in a particular area/location. To safeguard the public at large against the health hazard and nuisance which a trader / business may cause. Trade license is a method to regulate the trade and to ensure compliance with rule and safety guidelines issued by government. This license creates a harmony in the society that every business is following relevant rules, guidelines and obeying the safety measures. 

An application must be made before the commencement of the activity. However, some state governments allow 15 days to 3 month time to seek a trade license. License once issued requires periodical renewal on annual basis. Application for renewal must be filed at least 30 days before expiry of licence. 

Trade License(s) are issued by the authorised department of a municipal corporation in consultation with other specialised departments like fire brigade, health, engineering department having jurisdiction over the business.

Food establishment license:
Restaurants, hotels, food stall, canteen, the sale of meat & vegetables, bakeries etc.

Shop license:
Dangerous and Offensive trades like a sale of firewood, cracker manufacturer, candle manufacturer, barber shop, dhobi shop etc.

Industries license:
Small, Medium and Large scale manufacturing factories

REGISTRATION PROCESS

Step 1: Preparation of Application

Step 3: Time Period

Trade License Registration Process takes 7 to 10 days in metro cities.

RENEWAL OF TRADE LICENSE:

Trade licenses in India are renewed in between January 1st to March 31st. The validity of a license issued by the municipal authority is for a period of one year and required to be renewed every year.

The application for renewal of the license is to be made within 30 days from the date of its expiry.

What is Agmark Registration?

Agmark certification works like a quality benchmark or authenticity for all agricultural products produced in India. The word “Agmark” is derived from the combination of two words, “Ag” and “Mark”, which means agricultural and certification mark. Agmark certification process helps to make certified all the agricultural products before hitting the market. Currently, the AGMARK (Grading and Marketing) Act covers 205 different categories of agricultural products and commodities including on Pulses, Cereals, Essential oils, Vegetable oils, Fruits and Vegetables and other semi-processed commodities. This Agmark certification is extremely vital for all retailers and whole sellers across the country in order to sell their products to large base of customers. In order to give the consumers authentic and reliable quality products, the Government of India has defined the Agmark Certification Act, 1937 (and amended in 1986).

This mark includes the following types of products:

  • Agriculture and Horticulture products
  • Food and drinks that are either wholly produced or partially produced and partially manufactured.

REGISTRATION PROCESS

Step 1: Preparation of Application

Once the applicant has provided all the documents required for the preparation of application then we will prepare the application with other documents for filing it to AGMARK authority.

Step 2: Submit Application

Submit application in the prescribed form to the AGMARK authority along with other documents.

Step 3: Inspection of Physical Site

An Inspection team will visit the physical site for Inspection.

Step 4: Issuance of AGMARK Certification

After complete verification AGMARK authority will issue a AGMARK certificate.

AGMARK Certification Process takes 30 to 40 days.

What is APEDA License Registration?

It provides financial assistance, information, guidelines towards the development of scheduled products. The products specified under the APEDA ACT are called schedule products and exporters of such scheduled products are required register under APEDA. It is mandatory and responsible for export promotion and develops scheduled products such as Vegetables, Fruits, Poultry products, Meat, dairy products, biscuits, confectionery, bakery products, jaggery, honey, and sugar products, chocolates, cocoa products, floriculture products, pickles, papads, and chutneys etc.

APEDA Registration is valid for a period of 5 years. In case of any default, The authority may cancel your certificate on any valid ground. Modification requirement if any changes are there, for example, your entity name change, change in address of the business, change in the product that you are exporting.
